Way back in 2006 X Factory introduced the New Math, the revolutionary mid-motor X – 6. It was the first mass-produced molded chassis mid-motor buggy and it promptly won National Championships all over the world, including U.K. and France. Three years later, in 2009, X Factory UpGraded the car by releasing the X – 6 Squared, and that car has won more than a dozen National Championships in countries from Finland to Australia.

Get ready for Higher Math! The new X – 6 Cubed will be on store shelves in 8 – 10 weeks! Final testing is underway now with the entire X Factory U.K. Team testing final astro& grass set-ups while U.S. drivers as well as the European Team will soon be driving pre-production Higher Math on many different dirt tracks.

Chief Engineer Paul Sinclair said, “We have been testing many different concepts to UpGrade the X – 6 Squared for over two months now. Team drivers have tested various chassis lengths and materials as well as electronics placement and weight distribution, and we are pretty much in agreement now. So it’s time for final testing and set-up work with pre-production cars. In about two weeks we’ll start writing the instructions, and then we’ll be ready to go.”

“Initial testing has proven the Cubed to be a significant improvement over the Squared. Principally it jumps and lands better,” Sinclair continued. Those with sharp eyes will see the new X – 6 Cubed on various tracks in U.K. this weekend and in the U.S. and Europe soon after.

NEW INFINITY LINE FROM X FACTORY

DO THE MATH TO HOP UP YOUR RIDE

X Factory introduces a new line of parts called “Infinity By X Factory.”

For ten years X Factory has been the most innovative company in all of off-road R/C, first introducing the X – 5 in 2004 and following that in 2006 with the first mass produced mid-motor buggy, the X – 6. X Factory has won National Championships in nine different countries.

Now X Factory’s engineering genius Paul Sinclair turns his talents to other cars as we introduce the Infinity By X Factory line. These are not X Factory Conversion Kits which turn your existing AE car into an X Factory car; rather Infinity By X Factory are hop-ups that improve performance in other brands. First up is a new carbon fiber chassis for the B5M, and the line will be expanded soon with shock towers, new steering systems, and other innovative products that take your car to the next level. Do The Math -- It’s like a Squared version of your current car.

The Infinity carbon fiber chassis gives the B5M lots more flex and tunability. Drivers report both much better cornering and increased forward bite on all surfaces. Rough tracks require more flex, so loosen some or all of the side deck screws on the Infinity chassis. The forward screws affect front flex, while the rear ones work on the back end. Loosen a half turn, or take them entirely out – which ones you do and how much you do tunes the car. On smoother indoor tracks tighten the side decks down.

The new Infinity By X Factory CF chassis kit is available right now at fine hobby stores world-wide, with a suggested retail price of just $99.00! The I105 kit is complete with the CF chassis, all the other CF parts, aluminum stand-offs, hardware, and those great X Factory instructions. Each part is also available separately for spare parts.

B5M owners can now Do The Math! Watch for other Infinity By X Factory items to appear soon.

National Geographic Channel is set to launch a new prime time show called Showdown Of The Unbeatables. Premiere is Friday April 4 at 9PM Eastern and Pacific and will run at 9 every Friday after that. X Factory, Paul Sinclair, Chazz Sinclair, and the X – 6 Cubed buggy will be featured in one of the early episodes of the show. Filming was completed over a three day period in September and October of 2013, with over 10,000 minutes of video shot at five different locations to produce about 10 minutes of show. One member of the film crew with 20 years’ experience filming things like this plus sports action said, “This is the most exciting and detailed video I have ever shot. These shots are incredible!”

Showdown of the Unbeatables showcases three product match-ups per episode. The companies that designed them are as varied as the inventions: some are mom-and-pop shops with one killer product while others are multimillion-dollar corporations with extensive resources. What they all share is a passion for their product and the unshakeable belief that it can’t be beaten. The emphasis is on innovative high tech products which are placed in unusual competition.

One of the world’s strongest umbrellas faces off against a hurricane-strength wind turbine. An impenetrable safe tries to withstand a beating from a two-story pneumatic jackhammer. A supersized fire truck battles the heat from a 3,500-degree flamethrower. In the arena of innovation, this is the ultimate test. Inventors and entrepreneurs stand tall behind their products and put their reputations at stake. But what happens when the indestructible is put in a death match with the destructor?

On Friday, April 4, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT, National Geographic Channel enters a battle royale, pitting entrepreneurs and their innovations against each other in Showdown of the Unbeatables. Television personalities Brian Unger and Zane Lamprey align themselves with opposing companies that are readying for battle with their prized products. In each showdown, only one can emerge victorious. Zane Lamprey (right in photo) is the presenter with X Factory.

Hosts Unger and Lamprey align themselves with opposing products, getting to know how they work, learning the backstory from engineers who created them and then seeing them in action. And we don’t just mean everyday items lying around the house. The engineers demonstrate the innovations in jaw-dropping ways. Can a brick-wall-busting air cannon penetrate a revolutionary bombproof wall coating? Will one of the world’s hottest blowtorches outperform a chainsaw capable of chewing through rocks and steel? And will micro-suction adhesive pads hold their own against the granddaddy of all tree shakers?

The series explains the fascinating science behind the inventions, but above all it delivers incredible, logic-defying visuals. Viewers will be left scratching their heads wondering who is going to win. When the dueling companies meet for the first time, it’s a mixture of fear, bravado and genuine readiness … just like a pre-match meet in boxing. The players size each other up. The rules are drawn up and agreed upon. The supporters take their places. And the showdown begins.

Each competing company is given about five minutes of air time showcasing its product, followed by about five minutes of the Showdown. Therefore, you will see Paul, Chazz, and the Cubed for about ten minutes of prime time TV, as Paul puts the Cubed through some incredible action, the kind of stuff you haven’t seen an R/C car do before. Because this is a reality show, we can’t reveal yet what company we are pitted against, and of course we can’t tell you who won – you’ll have to watch to find out if the X – 6 Cubed is really invincible.

We have not seen any R/C product do anything like this before, and have not seen any prime time exposure for R/C racing like this. This is not a paid commercial, not an infomercial; X Factory is part of the show, which will be seen by millions. We hope it give a great boost to the popularity of our sport. X Factory expects their segment to run in the fourth or fifth week of the show; as soon as we know the exact date our episode will air we’ll let you know so you and all your friends can have a big party to watch. Trust me, the show is fantastic.

The X - 5 was X Factory's first kit, entering the market in late 2004. The X - 5 brought on X Factory's first major-race success by winning the ROAR national title in 2005. Continued X Factory Family and Team development lead to the X - 5 Squared.

A recent problem with the main chassis mold has forced X Factory to discontinue selling the aging kit, though large part stores mean many drivers are continuing to campaign their X - 5's.

X Factory announces the X – 60CF, a great new 1/10 stadium truck. Building on the success of the amazing carbon fiber SCX – 60CF short course truck, this new stadium truck continues many of the same design principles. It’s an all carbon fiber Conversion Kit that converts a T 4 or 4.1 to a slim new mid-motor monster.

For several years the molded-chassis X – 60 has been very successful on tracks all over the world; now X Factory changes it to a carbon fiber truck that is lighter and moves the weight more to the center of the truck. Lean in the corners is greatly reduced for faster lines, and the latest prototype X – 60CF weighs in at only about 1870 grams fully dressed for racing!

The X – 60 provided design inspiration for the SCX – 60CF which has been winning races for the past eight months, and X Factory has carried over those great design principles and many of the same parts to make this daring all-new stadium truck.

X-Team drivers will use production prototypes in several major races all over the U.S. during October and drivers are encouraged to come take a look. Chris Cristo will attend this weekend’s J Concepts race at R/C Excitement in Fitchburg, Mass. Chris Gould will have one at the Gold Cup race at Tacoma R/C in Washington the following weekend, and Ryan Durenne will drive an X – 60CF at the Spektrum race in Milwaukee.

Final set-up details are being worked out now and X Factory is beginning to write the instruction manual. Expect X – 60CF Conversion Kits in great hobby stores in late November, so save up some Christmas money and let’s go truckin’!!

What's been going on at X Factory?

Many R/C people have begun to notice the absence of one of the best-known and loved names in 1/10 off-road, Charles “Chazz” Sinclair, founder and, until a year ago, President of X Factory. Chazz began X Factory along with his son Paul in late 2004 with the first work on the X – 5 4wd buggy, a car which was very helpful with the resurgence of 4WD we enjoy today.

X Factory’s first U.S. National Championship was posted by Greg Hodapp driving his X – 5 to the win. By early 2006 Chazz and Paul had begun work on the first real molded chassis production mid-motor buggy, the X – 6, which in the hands of Ellis Stafford took the BRCA National Championship two years in a row, ’08 & ’09. In 2010 Stafford tied on points for first, losing out on his third title in a row on the tie break. The X – 6 and its newer brother, the X – 6 Squared, have now won over 11 different National Championships. We’ve come a long way in a short time.

Through that time Chazz had become a fixture around the pits working constantly to promote not just X Factory products, but R/C in general. There always seems to be some kind of crazy promotion going on around Chazz, all hoping to add to your fun and enjoyment. If you never heard him announce, you’ve missed a real treat as Chazz gives drivers on the stand the info they need while keeping the race exciting for the spectators.

So where has Chazz been the last few months? To put it simply, he has been gravely ill and in the hospital much of the time. Chazz suffered a small stroke last summer; while in the hospital for that however the doctors discovered cancer of the throat and tongue. The surgery , chemotherapy, and radiation treatments for this have been planned and on-going over the last several months. Then in mid-December Chazz caught Sepsis, a biological infection of the blood. There was serious fear for his life and Chazz has been hospitalized most of the time since then.

Why are we writing and posting this now? A few reasons. First, we finally have some good news to share about Chazz's condition. The antibiotics have been working well, and the doctors are encouraged not only about the infection but also the results of the radiation and chemotherapy treatments. On Jan 18 he was discharged from the hosptial, though he still checks in 7 days a week for the medicine and check-ups. Chazz still isn't working at all, but recovery is a daily, ongoing process. Second, enough XF family members have emailed, phoned, or posted quesitons that we believed it prudent to post a public message.

Needless to say, all of this has caused some understaffing at X Factory. While a few things have shipped later than we would like, and our communicaiton hasn't been the best, we want to assure the world that X Factory is moving forward as a company, that parts are flowing in from vendors and orders are shipping out to shops and customers. Work on the new 4wd car is continuing. As Chazz is at home recovering, Paul is spending more time at the shop and getting things back on schedule.

When will Chazz be back? We certainly expect and hope soon, with your prayers. The support we've received already from the great R/C Community has been incredible. This wonderful X Factory Family he worked so hard to create has been a major force sustaining his life, and we mean that literally. Thank you all for your understanding and compassion.

ELLIS STAFFORD RE-SIGNS FOR TWO MORE YEARS WITH X FACTORY

Ellis Stafford: "I continue to be excited driving for X Factory. Back in 2006 when I first started with the X-Team, we had the X - 5 Squared and the original X - 6, and they were the fastest, most innovative cars around. I won the U.K. Championship in '08 with the 6, but we didn't stand on our laurels, we designed and raced the 6 Squared to the title in 09, making two years in a row. I tied for the Championship with the Squared in 2010, and I think it's still the fastest 2WD buggy out there.

”It's the X - 7 that excites me now. Again X Factory is leaping ahead with an innovative new design, and I'm so happy to be a part of the design team. I took my prototype X - 7 to a club race win the other weekend and it was very good indeed. 2012 and 2013 will be my most exciting years of R/C racing!"

X Factory president & chief engineer Paul Sinclair said, "Ellis has been a pivotal part of the design and testing effort on the X - 6 Squared and the new X - 7 4WD. For continuity and future work it was important to us that he sign for the next two years, and we are very happy that Ellis wants to stay with us."

BIGGER & BETTER BOX ‘O BOLTS FROM X FACTORY

X Factory’s Box ‘O Bolts has been a staple in many pit boxes for several years now, with a great assortment of 4-40 fasteners vital to every racer with a car that uses U.S. fasteners.

Now X Factory has updated the assortment and increased the number of fasteners. Included now are the 5-40 locking nuts drivers must often replace on the slipper shaft of X Factory cars, as well as most Losi and AE 1/10 cars. Each Box 'O Bolts now contains 18 different fasteners.

And the fastener count is now up to 153. So you get a great assortment of sizes, good quantities of bolts, nuts, lock nuts, washers -- 10 or more of some sizes -- everything you need in 4-40 fasteners for your X Factory, Losi, or AE car. All in a cool little plastic box with dividers for 18 compartments – one for every item. It's a great little box that fits easily in your pit box or on the table.

The new assortment is shipping now to fine hobby stores all over the world. Also available at www.xfactorystore.com

X Factory's own Paul Sinclair attended the 2010 Hobby Haven Shootout over the Labor Day weekend, and spotted in his pits was this new prototype ESOO8 heatsink and fan mount for X – 6² and X -60. This attaches to the motor plate and will help to cool your motor. The production piece will be in anodized blue, should come with blue aluminum screws, and a X Factory fan.

Jani Hovi from Finlandia brought along his awesome 2WD creation to the 2010 Euros. Unfortunately he chose not to run this beauty because the material used on the chassis was the wrong type of aluminium and too soft, so it could possibly bend in a heavy crash. EFRA rules mean that a chassis can't be changed during the event unless it's a like-for-like swap due to breakage. So Jani chose to go with a more mainstream car for this event.

The buggy used the XFactory rear gearbox but surrounded by some very nice looking machined alloy parts that hold the gearbox / motor and suspension, shock tower etc. The front end is Associated parts whilst the rear used nearly complete Durango DEX410 parts, along with DEX410 dampers all round.

Great looking car!

X FACTORY PARTNERS WITH PROBST MOTORSPORTS

X Factory announces a new partnership with Probst Motorsports of New Lenox, Illinois. X Factory will sell replicas of the #9 E3 Spark Plugs Lucas Oil Pro-2 short course truck. The Kit will contain an SCX – 60 Conversion Kit with a professionally painted Pro-Line Silverado body that exactly matches the real E3 #9 and a huge die-cut decal sheet from BC1 Graphics, graphics supplier to the real #9 truck, to complete the perfect replica.

To celebrate the new partnership, Probst Motorsports will bring the #9 E3 Lucas Oil truck to the ROAR National Championship race in Joliet, Ill. for at least three days of the race! Pro driver Kevin Probst, a 35-year veteran of the short course truck circuit with over 200 wins to his credit, will attend the ROAR race for a day in person to sign autographs and meet the R/C drivers.

At all the Lucas Oil Off-Road Series races, the drivers hold an R/C S.C. truck race in the pits. Kevin Probst has been using an SCX – 60 during the 2010 season. The included photo of the R/C truck on the hood of the real truck is NOT PhotoShopped – it was taken in the parking lot as the real truck was being loaded into the trailer. Several SCX – 60s will contest the ROAR Championship, including a Probst Special Edition in the hands of Kevin Probst’s nephew, Jon Probst.

The new trucks will be available at selected fine hobby stores and on the X Factory web site following the ROAR race.
