JConcepts, out to Silence the competition, debuts new Silencer body design for TLR 22 2.0 MM vehicle.

The JConcepts design team has spent many hours in development with leading team drivers to develop a new high-speed style body, specifically for the latest circuits. One of the most recognizable items, the Silencer body style, has now been designed for perfect fit and finish on the TLR 22 2.0 MM buggy.

A brand-new, ground up design, the Silencer, has new elements created for the highest speed circuits. A profiled, Finnisher stance cockpit and forward raised side-pod gives the Silencer an immediate fighting appearance. A smooth, high-speed transition around the cab, keeps the Silencer heading in the right direction. A slight recess just behind the cab with channeling out the rear provides rear-end stability. The Silencer side-pods have a clipped rear-end, narrowing the rear by angling in just in front of the rear tires. The rear side-pods angle sharply toward the shock tower and wing, enhancing the force placed on the rear pods during high-speed acceleration.

The main pods are heavily chamfered near the front and lightly toward the rear allowing plenty of paint and decal access. The end result has the body looking extremely low-profile with heavy JConcepts edginess and appeal. The Silencer is capped off with a cock-pit “shark fin" for more high-speed tracking stability and increased roof stiffness. The package includes two, 6.5” Hi-Clearance wings pre-marked for the TLR 22 2.0 MM for the easiest application.

JConcepts New Product Release – B4.1, T4.1 and SC10 Front Axle

One of the best upgrades you can make to the Team Associated line of vehicles is a conversion to 12mm hex wheels. JConcepts has been on top of this conversion since its introduction with hex adaptors and Mono wheels. A critical point of the conversion revolves around the front axle and surrounding geometry. Within the steering block the space is very tight and especially between the 2 front bearings where the front axles rests between the bearing bores in 1 plane and the king pin in the perpendicular plane.

The JConcepts front axle design is based around high-quality steel construction, an outer bearing crush step and an inner 4-40 locknut for security. The design eliminates c-clips, screws and other items which are hard to detect of issues which limit performance. The free spinning design includes axles, 4-40 mini lock-nuts, thin axle shims, decal and assembly instructions.

Assembly

Assembly is built from the outside in. Slide on the outer wheel bearing from the outside of the axle and slide assembly through the (AE #9880) steering block. Insert the roll-pin from the outside and slide on the hex adaptor. Holding the assembly by the hex adaptor, slide on the inner bearing along with thin axle shims and secure the entire assembly with the 4-40 locknut. Check for the intended amount of free play and spin the axle to check entire assembly.

1/10th scale ball cups

JConcepts ball cups are designed for all 1/10th scale off-road vehicles. Available in black, white and yellow these ball cups are designed with performance as well as aesthetics in mind.

A newly designed low-profile ball cup has been designed for extra durability and added wheel to tie-rod clearance. 4 left and 4 right included per package. It is recommened to only use the low-profile ball cups on the rear outer camber link of off-road vehicles.

When using the new low-profile ball cup it is necessary to use a shorter tie-rod than normal stock units.
