From the World Championship winning team at HB, comes the latest in a long line of ground breaking state of the art racing chassis, we proudly present to you the PRO 5 Competition 1/10th Scale 4WD Touring Car! Using its vast knowledge of competition chassis design, the HB R&D Design Team set out to the create the next level Touring Car platform. While the pursuit of outright speed is still paramount, the Team also strived to create a platform that provides the driver with the ultimate level of “stability” and “flow”.

With today’s vast array of ultra powerful and ultra fast motors, races are becoming amazing festivals of speed with drivers continuously pushing the speed envelope beyond levels previously seen. In order to truly harness this newfound speed, drivers need to have the ultimate confidence and control in their race machines. With these goals in mind, the HB R&D Design Team determined that a complete re-think of the standard TC design was needed. utilizing the latest state of the art resources and the input of World Championship winning team driver, the Team arrived at the basic concept design of the PRO 5.

The Team then further refined this concept to achieve the ultimate goal of supreme “stability” and “flow” in a no holds barred next level top competition chassis. The resulting PRO 5 chassis affords the driver with the ultimate stability at speed coupled with the edge in being able to smoothly flow in the transition areas. The superior combination of these features makes the HB PRO 5 truly the next level in TC design and performance!

RS4 Sport 3: the icon is back!

The RS4 Sport 3 is the all-new touring car chassis from HPI Racing! In development and refined for over a year, the RS4 Sport 3 features a completely sealed and highly efficient shaft drivetrain, coilover shock absorbers plus waterproof electronics. The fully contained drivetrain means there are no exposed gears, belts or drivetrain parts to get stuck with rocks or dirt. Finally, the RS4 Sport 3 is finished with realistic tires plus a licensed replica body and wheels for an authentic look that will grab the attention of all RC and motorsport enthusiasts!

The first RS4 Sport 3 Flux features the utterly unique #17 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR driven by Bryan Sellers, Wolf Henzler and Nick Tandy for the Falken Tire racing team, one of the top race teams in the super-competitive GT Class. The iconic shape of the Porsche 911 combined with the jaw-dropping 'urban camo' look and stylized shark-mouth make for the perfect head-turning look for the fastest version of the all-new RS4 Sport 3. Finishing the race car look are a set of our extra-wide (31mm and 35mm) replica BBS wheels fitted with matching slick racing tires!

Propelling the RS4 Sport 3 to speeds over 113km/h (70mph) is the Flux MMH-4000KV motor, controlled by the waterproof Flux EMH-3S LiPo-ready speed controller. An enclosed box houses the 2.4GHz radio receiver, ensuring that you have constant control through the HPI pistol-grip steering wheel transmitter.

In an exclusive interview with NeoBuggy, HB / HPI driver Atsushi Hara revealed HB plans to enter the 1/10th market with a 4WD buggy in time for the World Championships which will be held in Chica, California in September. It won’t come as a complete surprise given the attendance of Hara and HB team mate Ty Tessmann at this year’s Reedy Race in La Mirada, CA.

In the video interview Hara explained the duo are still running other brand cars with Tessmann running Associated 2WD & 4WD, whilst Hara ran AE at last year’s Reedy, this time he chose to run Durango’s 4WD buggy and surprisingly a mid-motor Kyosho RB6 – citing the fact that the AE car is very good but given that Neumann won last year’s event with a Durango he was running that to test and understand where it might be faster as well as different.

As we reported yesterday, Japanese Hot Bodies factory driver Atsushi Hara won the TITC in Bangkok, Thailand. Along with his team mate Andy Moore, the double World Champion was using a prototype version of the new Cyclone touring car chassis and we have these exclusive photos of it. We weren’t given any specifics on the car itself other than it is a prototype and parts are subject to change, but both drivers were said to be very happy with the new car’s performance and with both making the A-main and Hara taking the win, it obviously works pretty well. What we can tell from the images is that it features a new LiPo only chassis plate and that there is a different belt orientation to help bring the motor closer to the car’s centre line. Other changes are the new longer top deck, which while not a single piece from front to back, it goes the entire length between the front and rear main axles, meeting just forward of the motor position and removing the aluminium chassis brace on the right side. There also appears to be new lower front wishbones along with aluminium steering blocks and with the steering servo orientated 90 degrees to standard, there is also a new servo saver system.

merci d'avance.

Salut a tous,

By Mike Garrison

LiveRC.com

Some of the latest news in the industry has been all of the major designers and engineers of companies leaving, joining, and starting over. Hot Bodies team driver and long time Ohio resident, Jesse Robbers, has made the move out west as he is taking a fulltime positioning designing for Hot Bodies as well as continuing his racing career!

Jesse was nice enough to take some time talking with us about the new year and all of the changes!

LRC: Jesse, What brought about the big move to California?

JESSE: I’ve thought about it for a long time now, and it worked out well to further my involvement as a racer with the major tracks out here as well as work directly with other engineers and designers on projects to simplify the process of designing and engineering.

LRC: Will you be racing even more now that you will be located in the hotbed of R/C?

JESSE: I will be working full-time designing, but will still attend the major races and hopefully plan to race more locally for testing and product development.

LRC: You have been working for HB from home in Ohio for a couple years. What will your new role be and how will it change?

JESSE: Basically I am transitioning into a design position fulltime as opposed to a racer fulltime. I will continue to race, but my primary job will be a designer.

LRC: Nearly everyone who works in R&D in the industry moves to Cali. What made you hold out so long in moving?

JESSE: Housing and living expenses are considerably higher in California than in Ohio, combined with trying to find an ideal place for R/C work at home and still close to work is very difficult. After paying rent and expenses in California, although salaries are higher, you are often losing money compared to salaries and expenses back in Ohio.

LRC: What are your thoughts on Josh Alton's leaving HotBodies? You two were always pretty close.

JESSE: There’s no connection between him leaving and me coming on full-time, that was just a coincidence. I was pretty bummed to hear about him leaving because we are good friends and work well together. He was always my pit man as well. I was looking forward to testing and developing with him. He was a big help to me in the past few years with not only racing but design stuff as well.

LRC: Shin Adachi just joined the HB team after leaving Kyosho, will he be working with you in R&D?

JESSE: Adachi is great guy, I look forward to racing and working with him, however I don’t honestly know where he will be located and what his major roles will be.

LRC: The CR8 looked flawless at CRCRC, will you and the entire team be running it at the Nitro Challenge?

JESSE: I will definitely be running the CR8, I really like the car. I don’t know for certain how many of the team drivers will be running the new car as many of them just received it and may need time to get comfortable and dial the car in just right for them.

LRC: Can you give us a little insight as to what might be in the works at Hot Bodies for 2012?

JESSE: We have some innovative new things in the works and finishing up some of them very soon.

LRC: We wish you the best on your new home and position at HotBodies, is there anything you’d like to add?

JESSE: Josh and I over the past year have really been working hard to develop the buggy and truggy, and I feel that we have improved the products greatly and am expecting some really good results this year racing. I am really looking forward to all the changes and getting started fulltime designing as well. A big thanks to Hot Bodies for this opportunity!

http://www.aviotiger.com/actualite.php?menu=8&id=602

Variateur "waterproof" et "lipo cut off"

- 1 Chargeur nimh/lipo

HotBodies development seemed to ease off after the 2007 World Championships - the new D2 2WD buggy got all the way to production but was cancelled at the last minute and with no 2WD car to accompany the 4WD things seemed to drop into obscurity a little.

Thankfully HB are looking more lively and the guys are testing a couple of prototypes at this weekends PetitRC race. The new 2WD and 4WD and provisionally known as the D2X and D4X respectively.

The D2X is the successor to the car that never was - the D2. And whilst that car was a rear-motor only design, this new prototype allows the user to switch between rear & mid configurations.

It's all pretty early stages we're told and the cars are cobbled together using various parts that the company make for other vehicles along with some custom made alloy and carbon parts.

The side pods are about the only part carried over from the lovely unreleased D2 buggy

Fun and Fast Front-Wheel Drive!

The HPI Switch is a fun front wheel drive (FWD) electric car that makes getting into R/C quick, easy, and inexpensive. The Switch is completely Ready-To-Run with a factory-assembled chassis, painted/trimmed body with decals applied, and complete electronics that include the transmitter/receiver, reversible electronic speed control, battery pack and AC charger. Based on the "True Ten" scale introduced with the HPI Cup Racer, the Switch can be adjusted for width and wheelbase to accept a wide variety of mini-size bodies and all of the latest HPI Cup Racer bodies.

The Switch, HPI's first FWD car, comes with a simple but very rigid tub chassis. All heavy items are located low on the chassis so the car corners briskly with minimum roll. You don't need to be an advanced driver to enjoy the Switch!
