2. The first round of the Austrian Nationals 1/10 Offroad was held on the very old-school style track of the SMRC Vienna - it was super slippery, bumpy and dusty, but the track layout itself was good fun with a lot of difficult sections and a lot of elevation changes. According Hupo Hönigl:
3. Serpent will soon be introducing the next development stage in 1/8 scale electric powered onroad design. Being the 1st a few years back to introduce the purpose designed Serpent 966-e, we are now taking another big step to introduce the Viper 977-e. Michael Salven as designer could focus fully on the central part of the car, as the Viper 977 suspension is well proven with the TQ and Wc win. The new design takes into account the todays battery, speedo and motor technology and makes best use of it. The 1/8 speedo, 2 x 3S batteries and a 2000 KV brushless motor as complete package make the Viper 977-e accelerate like crazy and achieve very similar or even faster laptimes than gaspowered. Run-time is already close to 5.5 minutes as well. We choose for the 2 x 3S batteries as those are easy to get everywhere, and enable playing with balance / weight well too. Why run a 1/8 scale EP onroad racecar ? Well there are some reasons: - The sheer speed and power - No noise in tracks where this is an issue ( sometime only eveningtime ) - No mechanic / helper needed to race - Cleaner  - Just different , try something new - Greener  - Lower running cost is possible but depends on proper use of speedo and batteries Key features - Carbon fibre chassis 5mm and topdeck - Carbon fibre battery holders / protectors - Carbon fibre speedo plate - 2 belt system with 5mm belts - large pullies and ballraced belt tensioners - Aluminium 7075 T6 motorholder and mid-shaft bracket - 16T motorpully / 48T spur ratio - Viper 977 front and rear suspension For existing Viper 977 gaspowered drivers, we may also offer a conversion kit, so at end of season they can convert their GP 977 into EP to give it a try. Final testing is in full progress and soon production can start. Team Serpent
4. Serpent introduce the full kit of the Serpent 747-e version. 200mm wide racing car in electric powered trim using foam tyres and TC body. Key features - Carbon fibre chassis and topdeck - Aluminum motormounts which doubles up as midshaft holder and rear anti-roll bar holder - Ballraced midshaft is mounted in seperate brackets to allow easy and fast spurgear changes - Very low steeringservo position, with centrally mounted supports in alu/carbon structure - 2 alu L-shaped topdeck supports with integrated ballraced belt tensioners - Front and rear geardiffs, front and rear same - Ballraced anti-roll bars - Carbon fibre battery holders - Fully adjustable independent suspension - Low friction belts and precision made pullies - RCCX shockabsorbers - Front CVD and rear dogbones in Serpent Spring Steel - Low and wide front bumper The upgrade set for the Serpent 747 is very popular and selling really well, so its time to make also the full kit available. Compared to a regular 1/10 scale touringcar, the handling is very different, much easier. As you will race with a wider car of 200mm and use foam tyres on wider rims. The 1/10 200mm cars are also overall stronger ( and a bit heavier) and can take the extra power you have with ease, without wearing out fast. Even when crashing the 200mm cars are more durable and can absorb more power. We recommend to use decent level 3S lipo, brushless motor less than 5000kV, combined with a strong 1/8 scale speedo. You can also use a brushless set from 1/10 TC touring, but it may not handle the traction created by the foam tyres, and cause thermal issue for both speedo and motor. We advice not to use it, or only at small tracks. At larger tracks for sure use the stronger 1/8 speedo and strong motor. The set-up of the 747-e chassis remains very close to the gaspowered one, speed is amazingly fast, and silent. A manual and the set-up sheet are posted online in serpent.com The 747-e can also be raced in 220mm/ GT format, using the wider 1/10 GT foam tyres and a GT body …. 7. Schumacher is pleased to advise of two new 1/10th Off Road Tyres, adding to our expanding range of tyres for multiple track conditions. Shown for the first time last week on our booth at the world famous Nürnberg Toy Fair these tyres were getting great attention! Firstly the new 4WD wide front stagger, this tyre has been developed for high grip astro and carpet surfaces. Aimed at providing more grip whilst keeping great stability associated with the staggered rib tyre. 2.2 inch diameter, suitable for 4WD and 2WD medium wheels. It is available in the legendary Schumacher Yellow compound for dry conditions and also the softer Silver for damp and wet conditions. The yellow is also available pre-glued on the 4WD Flexlite 12mm hex wheel. U6810 - Wide Stagger Rib - 1/10-Yellow (pr) - £7.99 U6811 - Wide Stagger Rib - 1/10-Silver (pr) - £7.99 U6812 - Wide Stagger Rib - 1/10-Yellow - Pre-Glued (pr) - £15.49 Secondly the new Mini Pin 2 rear tyre, this is a tyre for high grip astro and carpet racing. The new tyre has a thinner wall thickness which is aimed at providing more traction and improved bump handling. The pins have been designed to have more of a radius edge as opposed to the square edge on the previous and hugely popular Mini Pin tyre. This allows the tyre to work perfectly straight from the packet, without the need for bedding in. The Mini Pin 2 is available in Yellow, Silver and hard wearing Blue compound, the Yellow is available pre-glued on the Flexlite 12mm hex wheel. U6803 - Mini Pin 2 - 1/10 - Blue - (pr) - £7.99 U6804 - Mini Pin 2 - 1/10 - Yellow - (pr) - £7.99 U6805 - Mini Pin 2 - 1/10 - Silver - (pr) - £7.99 U6806 - Mini Pin 2 - 1/10 - Yellow - Pre-Glue - (pr) - £15.49

10. Report of Deniz Aksüt at Ratrace Summer Series Round 2 It’s going to be a new start for me with the MM Spyder. My previous car was the RM Spyder. I didn’t have a chance to test the car and don’t know the difference between the RM and MM buggies I only knew theoretically. Saturday we started training with our cars first thing I recognised with MM Spyder it has got awesome corner speed more than the RM Spyder (for Carpet Surface). Car is stable like RM and it has got one more advantage then RM Spyder. I started with the basic setup to understand what direction I needed to go to make the car better. With 300cst and 1.6 pistons the car is progressive but too frisky. I changed the piston to 1.5 2 holes and 500cst front and 400cst for rear. The car became very stable. While entering the corners and going out the car had good speed and no on power push when exiting the corners. I made rear toe a little straight because with the Schumacher yellow compound mini pin tires you already got a perfect grip for rear. I went with the same setup on Sunday. I used RudeBits rear wing it’s strong and it feels good when you jump off ramps. I started with a worn Schumacher Front (Cut Stagger) Rear (Mini Pin) Yellow compound car feels much better with used tires. Overall I went with that set of tire till the 3rd qualifying. Those tires are good like I said in my previous Race Reports. Round 5 of qualifying went really good for me. First 2 qualifying rounds had already got me the TQ. 3 Round of Finals went without a problem for me I finished all of them in 1st Position. I am happy with my Results and happy to see serpent RM and MM car’s in the A-main. Results for Spyder Users in A-main: 1st Deniz Aksüt(MM Spyder) 4th Cem Nizamoğulları (RM Spyder) 5th Kerem Düzgit (MM Spyder) 6th Tom How (MM Spyder) 7th Murat Yazıcı (RM Spyder) I want to thank Serdar Aytemiz (Aytemiz Hobby, Serpent Turkiye Distrubutor ) for giving me a full support as always. Thanks to RudeBits for high quality parts (Under Lipo Weights , Wings) Rudebits.co.uk Thanks Tom How (MR. Pro Serpent Turkey Team manager) The season has started really good for me and I hope it continues this way. King Regards see you all soon  Deniz Aksüt
