8. This weekend is where the old (and wise!) meet the young, to do battle for their individual status. The drivers would do battle in 2wd on the Saturday and 4wd on the Sunday. Saturday 2wd Practice begun at 8.0am sharp as all BRCA events do, with only one 4 minute run for everyone. The Kyosho cars looked on pace right from the beginning. Round 1 was interesting as I had a failure (blaming the mechanic obviously) but the car was good. Steve TQed the round in his class and the car looked real good too. Round 2 saw some real quick times posted and I was very happy to TQ my individual class. Working with the Team we made some minor changes between Steve and myself and that got Steve TQ for round 2 too. (...) More details of the report:

10. Jconcepts sent to PETITRC its latest news about the JConcepts Kyosho RB6 Finnisher Body and Wing. JConcepts hit the ground in Vaasa, Finland with an all new body design specifically for the IFMAR World Championships. Cleverly named, Finnisher, the unique design quickly rose to the top of the field during competition and proved effective on the ground and in the air. Designed with aspects learned from the Punisher line of bodies, the Finnisher provides an even more aggressive look with included details which remain crucial to performance. The Kyosho RB6 Finnisher body is a drop fit for the popular new buggy from Kyosho. With the evolution of race tracks, complicated circuits combining more aggressive jumps and extremely high-speed corners; JConcepts incorporated many features which provide several benefits in the most critical situations. Increased windshield angle provides a steady force upfront during mid-flight wind gusts on large jumps. Forward cab placement changes performance / visible bias which helps steering rotation in low traction corners. The side-pods have been simplified and JC chamfered to remove unwanted changes in height to neutralize the at-speed handling. The chassis to body fit has been tightened up which eliminates empty voids that contribute to mid-flight directional changes. The rear of the cab has a new step feature which allows the placement of a secondary side window and also a louver which can be trimmed to allow air to escape at the top of the body. In addition to the newly designed body, JConcepts has included 2 of the latest 6.5″ wide Hi-Clearance rear wings. This design has been used to win multiple races around the world and used by Ryan Maifield to take the TQ in the 4wd class and secure a 2nd place in the 2wd class at the 2011 IFMAR World Championships. Features: · Original – JConcepts Finnisher design · Blended wing / body design · Includes 2 – 6.5″ wide Hi-Clearance wings · Clear polycarbonate with protective film · Window masks and decal sheet
11. “Congratulations Tony Evdoka for Gaining F1 status with His Kyosho Lazer and RB5 Vega. As many of you know, Tony Evdoka has been in the sport a very long time and is a well respected driver from the Mid-South region. He took a break for a few years so had to work hard to gain F1 status again, in doing so we believe is the oldest person to achieve this. Since Tony joined Kyosho in October 2010, he has achieved some excellent results at National and Regional level and we are happy to announce we have extended his drive through to 2012. Tony will be competing as usual in the 1/10th Off Road scene and hopefully some 1/8th in 2012. This is what Tony had to say: “Off road 1/10th is currently reaching great heights and competition is extremely strong. I am thrilled to be racing the Kyosho cars and I feel privileged to also have their support. Backed up with the new Orion products I know I have a great combination to have a successful 2012 season. I would like to thank everyone at FDL-KyoshoUK for everything thus far.” Tony Will be helping us Trackside as team Manager, Please feel free to ask for advice or setups”
