Posted March 9, 2011 In 10 days time at the Cactus Classic AKA's entry into 1/10th Offroad will be fully underway as the recently (two days ago) finished tyres will have their racing debut. AKA factory driver Jared Tebo posted up the following photos on his Facebook, showing the new 'Rebar' tyres for 2WD & 4WD. Source: Jared Tebo / AKA
Posted May 18, 2011 The REBAR is designed for indoor tracks and hard packed, blue grooved outdoor tracks. The REBAR features double side rails on the edges of the tire provide extra sidewall support. This increases side bite and keeps your buggy planted in the turns. The wide staggered center lugs give the REBAR great forward traction to hook up the power and launch your buggy off the corner and over the jumps. Tread Performance - Each tire tread is computer designed and track tested by AKA engineers Gil Losi, Mark Pavidis and team drivers to ensure the best performance before each tire goes into production. Lifespan: The long life of the AKA tires is due to the collective decades of rubber compound development Gil Losi brings to the table. In fact, Mark and Gil have been responsible for developing some of the most successful tires in off-road racing for a generation. Each compound is tested in labs then rigorously track tested to ensure the highest quality. Balance: Like AKA inserts and wheels, tire balance is critical to superior performance and it''s a priority in AKA tires. Mold components are manufactured to the highest tolerances to ensure the best possible alignment of all the mold components. This results in a tire with more uniform thickness for the best possible balance. 1:10 BUGGY REBAR 2WD FRONT (SOFT) Part Number 13208S 1:10 BUGGY REBAR 2WD FRONT (SUPER SOFT) Part Number 13208V 1:10 BUGGY REBAR 4WD FRONT (SOFT) Part Number 13308S 1:10 BUGGY REBAR 4WD FRONT (SUPER SOFT) Part Number 13308V 1:10 BUGGY REBAR REAR (SOFT) Part Number 13108S 1:10 BUGGY REBAR REAR (SUPER SOFT) Part Number 13108V AKA is the pioneer in closed cell inserts. This insert was designed to decrease the lateral deflection of the tire while at the same time increasing the vertical impact absorption therefore providing better handling in the bumps. Using softer foam or hollowing out the inner circumference like other companies do still leaves the car feeling squirmy with a less accurate feeling through the bumps. Not to mention the loss of durability. Gil Losi and Mark Pavidis knew this compromise was not the solution. The solution they found was the addition of lateral grooves to the inner diameter. The lateral grooves allow the insert to flex vertically to absorb the large impacts while still maintaining lateral stability and overall durability AKA inserts are known for. No compromises. The result is a more predictable handling car without giving up durability. 1:10 BUGGY 4WD FRONT CLOSED CELL INSERT (SOFT) Part Number 33012 1:10 BUGGY REAR CLOSED CELL INSERT (SOFT) Part Number 33012

Posted June 3, 2012 The new AKA HEXlite 1:10 buggy wheels were designed with two things in mind, weight and durability. Both were achieved through superior engineering and use of AKA’s proprietary high-impact nylon. This combination makes them one of the lightest hex wheels on the market. Revolutionary to the 1:10 market is the optional wheel stiffener insert. It has been designed to help keep dirt from building up inside the wheel, making it go out of balance, and stiffens the already stiff wheel. HEXlite wheels spin true and balanced thanks to the quality craftsmanship of being made in the U.S.A. Posted April 1, 2014 New tires from AKA with the "Deja vu" & "Gridiron II". - Déja vu: The Deja Vu is a "bar" tire that excels on both indoor clay and outdoor hard packed tracks. The taller tread pattern cuts through dust with ease and provides a longer wearing tire for those abrasive tracks. Available with red inserts or pre-mounted pairs on Cyclone wheels in our race proven Clay, Super Soft, and Soft compounds. - Gridiron II: similar to its older brother, but refined with a large number of smaller pins. The smaller pins work well at getting grip on hard packed tracks with a layer of dust that sits on top. The Gridiron II also makes a great front tire choice to smooth out steering on 2wd SC trucks. Available with red inserts or pre-mounted pairs on Cyclone wheels in our race proven Super Soft, and Soft compounds. As always, designed and proudly made in the USA. http://www.petitrc.com/_forumphp/showthread.php?77318-AKA-Short-Course-Tires-Deja-Vu-amp-Gridiron-II
