Drivers are now able to order tires for both warm up event and World Championship event. You can find the order form here. Please make the reservation in May at latest.

We are very sorry to announce that tire prices are increasing from 10 euros to 11 euros per pair. We are forced to do this because of Finnish tax laws. Taxation is very complex for non-profit organizations here in Finland and currently we are waiting for decision if we are obliged to pay VAT from all income we get from tire sales. In case we need to pay VAT for the income from the tire sales, then we need to compensate our budget by increasing the tire prices. If we are not obliged to pay VAT for government, then tire prices will drop back to 10 euros per pair.

Clarification about the tires

There has been a lot of questions around the tires and especially which tires needs to be bought from the organizer. Regarding the warm up, drivers may use their own tires in the free practice and for the race (qualifying and finals) all tires must be bought from the organizer. Regarding the World Championship event, drivers may use their own tires in the free practice and for the controlled/timed practice, qualifying and finals drivers must buy the tires from the organizer.

The warm up event will follow the same tire rule as in the Worlds. This means that both controlled tires and inserts must be used in warm up event. We are also having controlled gluing area at the warm up. This is to control the tire rule and to get experience for the Worlds. No tires will be collected for the night at the warm up, which will happen in the Worlds.

WRC star Mikko Hirvonen as the patron of IFMAR Electric Buggy Worlds 2011!

The current WRC championship leader Mikko Hirvonen has confirmed to be the patron of the IFMAR Electric Buggy Worlds 2011. The race organizer Motorsport club of Vaasa values highly his support. As a patron Hirvonen gives support for voluntary work and specially for youth work, which is close to his heart.

– It's an honour for me to be a part of the World championship project. RC cars are an entertaining and a safe hobby for youngsters. This hobby develops the skills of coordination and observation, which are advantages also in many others things in life, says Hirvonen.

Motorsport club of Vaasa and Mikko Hirvonen have agreed that Hirvonen would be visiting the Electric Buggy Worlds, if his own preparation for the Neste Oil Rally Finland gives the opportunity for the visit.

The project manager of Worlds 2011 Jussi Luopajärvi is most happy about Hirvonen's commitment for being the patron. Hirvonen is a prime example of a responsible role model in the world of motorsport for the young people.

– Mikko Hirvonen's confirmation to be the patron of the event is an important acknowledgement for our sport. For us organizers this is, of course, an excellent motivator to do our job even better towards our goal to organize the greatest RC car event of all time, tells Luopajärvi.

Bonjour,

Au moins 6 chassis différents dans les 10 premiers en 4x2.

Comme quoi les meilleurs, ça se départage principalement avec les doigts.

Bonne journée,
